History

Buffalo Marine Construction was formed in 2010 and has operated in the Niagara Region since. We started our first year with one self-propelled work barge and since then we’ve added two additional work barges, three material barges, two excavators with vibratory hammers, two specialized push boats and a 30 ton rough terrain crane. Our team combines for over 40 years in specialty marine construction. We have completed hundreds of projects and are the exclusive marine contractor for six marinas.

 CLIENTS

What people are saying about us

“Sail Buffalo has held a license for a portion of shoreline owned by USCG at the Buffalo NY Inner Harbor since 2013. Our programming consists of boating and educational initiatives involving the general public. Our collaboration with the Buffalo Marine Construction Group started in 2014, when they became the successful bidder of an RFP for a Small Boat Ramp along the river. In 2015 they won the bid for an innovative solution for a river bank stabilization. Later in 2015 they constructed a Small Boat Storage Rack - a very important structure, visible for almost one million people!

They are also assisting us with taking our dock-system in and out of the river each season. During all of this, we have enjoyed a high level of professionalism, timely performances, and willingness to work within our budgets.

This is a company we can recommend for anyone who needs demanding work to be done along any water - they will get it done, on time, and in a pleasant and professional manner.”

“Rivermist Association is a 56 unit upscale townhome community located across from the Erie Basin Marina on Lake Erie, Buffalo, NY, that includes a private marina with 34 private boat slips for the exclusive use by our Rivermist Homeowners, their families, and guests. The marina was constructed in the mid 1980’s during the development of the Rivermist town home community. Since the boat slips are maintained within the marina waters year round, there is a need for periodic maintenance as well as major repairs to ensure the integrity of the marina in terms of safety, appearance, and continued longevity of our dock system.

We were fortunate enough through our established waterfront contractor contacts to have been given the name of Buffalo Marine Construction as an excellent resource for repairs to our dock system and have since relied on their expertise in the maintenance and improvements to the Rivermist Marina.

Our most recent experience in the summer of 2015 was the installation of dock pilings and the installation of a new aluminum walkway ramp to augment the existing support system. This was added to further prevent damage to the dock system as a result of the accumulating Lake Erie ice flow such as our experience during the very harsh winter of 2014-2015 that caused significant damage to our dock system. We contracted Buffalo Marine Construction for this major improvement that was completed to our satisfaction. Just as importantly we appreciate their ease of availability and responsiveness as a resource to our community for their expertise in maintaining our marina for the enjoyment of our Rivermist Homeowners.”
